Our seamstress services are available to Happily Ever After customers as well as those of you that have purchased elsewhere or inhereted a wedding dress.
Here at Happily Ever After, we offer a high quality service for your big event. We work closely with a number of expert dressmakers will fit you in our Fitting Rooms, subject to a pre arranged appointment, ensuring your outfit is perfect for your big day. We cater for Brides and Bridesmaids from Darlington, the local area and even nationwide.
The dressmakers will help you create the perfect look and fit for your wedding. We'll determine whether your dress needs to be taken in, let out, shortened, lengthened or altered. We'll make sure there is no puckering, bunching or bulging and check that the stitching, embroidery and beading are all in good shape.
During a consultation with one of our seamstresses you can discuss the options to customise your gown making it totally unique to you. For example you could add or take away straps, change the shape of the neckline or add your own applique, beads, crystals and more.
We recommend 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding but it maybe possible to work to tighter deadlines.
Shoes and underwear be to worn on your wedding day will be required at the time of your fittings. This is to ensure we can achieve the best possibole fit for your dress and the correct hem length.
If you require a hoop or you want to make your dress fuller Happily Ever After offer a hoop hire service. We have a selection of styles available starting from £25.00 (£20 refundable deposit required)
Happily Ever After do not directly employ a seamstress, however we do work closely with local seamstresses who use the premises as a base.
All alterations are separate to the dress price and will be quoted on an individual basis. Any claims or complaints regarding fittings should be directed towards your seamstress and not Happily Ever After as they are separate businesses. You are welcome to use any seamstress of your choice if you would prefer, our list is purely provided as a guide.
